The Lady Liberty Regatta
brings together
some of the top
women sailors in the country
for a
competition near the Statue of Liberty.
This regatta is organized
by the New York Harbor Sailing Foundation
and run approximately every 2 years.
The event is sponsored by
Conde Nast Publications
and raced on
identical J/24 sailboats
provided by the Manhattan Sailing Club.
The idea behind the Lady
Liberty Regatta
is to help build friendships and develop communication
among a
wide range of women sailors from all over the country.
Since we provide
the boats, all sailors need to do is show up.
This encourages
West Coast, Southern and Mid-Western sailors
to come come race against women
from the East Coast.
This also encourages women sailors from
different classes
to race against and meet each other.
The Sixth Lady Liberty
Regatta was held June 2 & 3, 2007.
We invite you to participate!
