Sireon

Built 1949
Length: 35 feet
Designer: Nielson
Material: Wood

by John D'Esposito

Sireon was built in Hempstead Harbor in 1949.  The yard was owned by Einer Nielson.  I once spoke with Olin Stephans who said Einer's yard was small but produced good boats. I do not know the original name of the boat or owner.

I have owned her for the last 28 years and have rebuilt and maintained her myself.  Work done includes new deck and all deckbeams, new sternpost, 12 planks, engine, wiring, 20 new floors, many new ribs, all plumbing, new mast, keelbolts, toerail, and cockpit.
