Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008

0930 - Skippers’ Meeting

1200 - Introduction to the Harbor Race - The harbor has many beautiful landmarks as well as unique local conditions.  Weather permitting, this race course will take us near Ellis Island, Governors Island, the Bay Ridge Flats, etc.  This is an opportunity to introduce visiting yachts to the harbor so they can begin to study the currents, winds, commercial traffic routes, etc.

1700-2000 - Dance Party on the Harbor Clubhouse

Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008

1200 - Corporate Regatta - New York is a city of business and to win local support for classic sailing, we need to engage the corporate community.  Therefore, if you wish to invite some corporate friends and sail under a “corporate banner,” you are encouraged to do so Thursday.  Sailing with a corporate banner is totally optional and all yachts are invited and encouraged to race regardless.

1700-1800 - Judging of the Concours d’Elegance (a Showcase Event).

1200 - Statue of Liberty Race.  Recognized as one of the world’s greatest icons, the Statue of Liberty presides over the harbor and welcomes all to these waters.  This race is a homage to Lady Liberty and will include a finish where she can see all of these beautiful yachts.  After you finish, please toot a horn and wave to Lady Liberty.
