New York Classic Week
Dockage

The main gathering of classic yachts will be at Dennis Conner's North Cove on the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan.  This mega yacht facility has been reserved for the first New York Classic Week and all yachts will receive a 20% discount.  The Concours d'Elegance will be judged from this location on Friday evening.

To reserve your berth at North Cove, please contact 212-786-1200 or info@TheNorthCove.com.  Be sure to inform her you are with the New York Classic Week.  Space is limited at North Cove so early reservations are recommended.

In addition to North Cove, there are other docking venues around the harbor, especially for smaller yachts.  Here is a list of some options:

1. Dennis Conner's North Cove, NYC's mega yacht marina and a great place for showcase boats but space is limited.  Right in front of the World Financial Center.  www.TheNorthCove.com 212-786-1200.

2. Liberty Harbor Marina, on the north side of Morris Canal in Jersey City.  PATH trains and Light Rail are nearby for transportation to and from the city.  www.libertyharbor.com 800-646-2066 or 201-386-7500.

3. Liberty Landing Marina, on the south side of Morris Canal in Jersey City.  Offers weekday water taxi service to and from Manhattan.  Good marina if you have car transportation.  www.llmarina.com  201-985-8000

4. 79th Street Boat Basin, on the upper West Side of Manhattan and a convenient place to stop by a bit out of the way.  Very relaxed atmosphere.

5. Hoboken Shipyard, a friendly marina in northern Hoboken good for small boats- www.shipyardmarina.com   201-798-8080

6. Chelsea Piers, a large recreational development near West 23rd St with large boats.  Also home of the classic yacht Adirondack.

7. Anchoring, we are not sure how official this is, but we have seen boats anchored overnight along the south end of Liberty State Park back near the public boat launching ramp.  Appears to offer quiet and protected waters.  Check your charts about going in and out safely.  Watch out for reef southwest of Liberty Island.  Also, you can stay in any of the USCG designated anchorages listed on the charts.
